Award Winners
The band handed out trophies at its AGM to the players who John and Phil thought had improved the most in the past year. The decision this year was particularly difficult so it was decided to give two prizes.
The deserved recipients were Toni Rooke in first place and Patricia Kril in a close second spot. The contributions from both of these players have helped to improve and strengthen their respective sections tremendously.
The prizes for the most improved beginners went to Madeleine and Jacob Bramley. Notably the band have won all three contests these two have played in. Hands off Grimey!
Many congratulations to all.

A great end to a fantastic week. Worsbrough Brass won the Rothwell Competitive Music Festival. The band delivered a good performance of Star Lake, Over the Rainbow (well played Jenny), Ticket to Ride, the Apotheosis from Saint-Saëns Variations (of course), and Breezing Down Broadway to win the contest for the very first time.

Yorkshire Brass Band Championships
What a day. What a performance. John's ambition to transform Worsbrough Brass into a winning band was fulfilled
when the band delivered a strong (but not our best!) performance to win at
Bradford.
Obviously winning meant a lot to all members of the band and their supporters,
but notably the longer serving members were highly delighted to see the band
come so far.

Tankersley Welfare Hall, Pilley
Barnsley Building Society Band and Worsbrough Brass are getting together to rehearse their test pieces for the Yorkshire Area Contest - 2nd and 4th Sections respectively. The idea is to play the pieces out in front of an audience with John Roberts acting as adjudicator and giving constructive feedback and perhaps spending a little time with each band after their performance.
Please come along - we need to put the bands under a bit of pressure!!!!
Drinks available on the night!
